Hilary’s gift of hope
Like so many others, Hilary knows all too well how devastating pancreatic cancer can be. She lost her husband, George, in July 2019. George started to feel unwell during an around the world cruise to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. Despite seeing a consultant during the voyage, pancreatic cancer wasn’t diagnosed until it was too late. Sadly, George died just seven weeks later.

Pancreatic Cancer UK’s partnership with Aviva and Friends wins a Third Sector Award
The team won the award for ‘Challenge Event of the Year’ - where they won recognition for their brave and inspiring fundraising in memory of two former team mates who sadly died of pancreatic cancer.

Walk for Pia: The Gavin and Stacey themed walk from Billericay to Barry Island
Pia was aged just 54 when she sadly lost her life to pancreatic cancer in September 2021, 11 months after her diagnosis. Now, Pia’s husband, Simon, and their two daughters Rhiannon and Emilia have been joined by family and friends in walking from Billericay, Essex, to Barry Island, South Wales, to honour her life, raise vital awareness and funds for the disease and celebrate her love of BBC Sitcom Gavin and Stacey!

Last month, our amazing Jog 28 miles in February participants braved the dreary weather to cover 28 miles over 28 days, raising an incredible £300k! Each and every participant was kept going by their own unique and inspiring stories, including Amy, who took part in support of her mum, Angela, sadly diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2020.
