Join us for our free annual, educational webinar on diabetes and pancreatic cancer.

Come along to find out everything you need to know about diagnosing and supporting your pancreatic cancer patients in managing their diabetes. We’ll begin with an introduction to diabetes (including type 3c diabetes) and pancreatic cancer, before getting into the medical management, nutritional management, and the impact and management of diabetes throughout a pancreatic cancer patient’s journey.

This session will be delivered by dietitians and a consultant specialising in diabetes and pancreatic cancer.

Introduction to diabetes and pancreatic cancer
In this opening session we’ll ensure everyone is up to speed on diabetes and pancreatic cancer before we go into the sessions around management.

  • The pancreas functions
  • What is diabetes and what are the different types?
  • The physiology of type 3c diabetes
  • Introduction to pancreatic cancer, how it is treated and symptoms associated with the disease
  • The relationship between diabetes and pancreatic cancer

Medical management

  • Glycaemic management
  • Medical management
  • Hypoglycaemia
  • Illness management

Nutritional management, impact of diabetes on treatment, and end of life

  • Nutritional management of diabetes with pancreatic cancer including pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy (PERT)
  • The impact of surgery, chemotherapy, and other treatment on managing diabetes
  • Managing diabetes at the end of life

Who is this session for?


This session is suitable for all healthcare professionals treating and supporting people with pancreatic cancer, no matter your level or role.

It is particularly relevant for UGI / HPB CNSs and consultants, diabetes specialist nurses and consultants, dietitians (specialists and non-specialists) and palliative care specialists.

Yes – where the speakers are happy to be recorded. After the event, we will email all registrants with a link to the recordings and presentation slides. So if you’re unable to join the live session, you will be able to catch up at a later date. For the best experience, we recommend joining live.
