Our speakers
Jeni Jones
Specialist Pancreatic Cancer Nurse, Pancreatic Cancer UK
Jeni has been nursing for 32 years and has spent the past seventeen years working in cancer care, including the care of people with pancreatic cancer. She has worked in the areas of chemotherapy, palliative care and clinical trials and is experienced in providing support to patients, families, and friends.
Mary Phillips
Senior Specialist HPB Dietitian, Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
Mary graduated from the University of Surrey in 2000, and for the last 21 years has been working with the pancreatic surgical team at the Royal Surrey in Guildford. Her main clinical and research interest is in the management of pancreatic exocrine insufficiency, and she is currently undertaking her PhD in the long-term consequences of pancreatic resection.
Laura McGeeney
Pancreatic Specialist Dietitian, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Laura is a Pancreatic Specialist Dietitian at Addenbrooke’s hospital in Cambridge. She provides nutritional advice to people with pancreatic cancer from suspected diagnosis, through treatment and afterwards. She is secretary of the Nutrition Interest Group of the Pancreatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland and has written guidelines and patient information on the nutritional management of pancreatic disease, pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy and type 3c diabetes. She was the dietitian on the Guideline Committee for the Pancreatic Cancer NICE guidelines. Laura is particularly keen to increase access to good quality nutritional information and support for people with pancreatic cancer and those supporting them.
