In this webinar we discussed our recently launched campaign to raise awareness of the inherited risk of pancreatic cancer and our new online Family History Checker.
We shared information about the inherited risk of pancreatic cancer and how you can refer your patients who may have an inherited risk to a national research study, called EUROPAC (The European Registry Of familial Pancreatic Cancer and hereditary pancreatitis).

Chair
Anna Jewell
Director of Support, Research and Influencing, Pancreatic Cancer UK
Anna has worked for Pancreatic Cancer UK for 13 years and is responsible for the support, research and influencing activities of the charity. She is determined to drive change in outcomes for pancreatic cancer, to ensure more people affected by pancreatic cancer survive and are able to maintain a good quality of life. Anna is Chair of the Less Survivable Cancer’s Taskforce, a coalition of charities working together to call for government prioritisation and a doubling of survival for these cancers by 2029. Anna was a lay member of the committee which advised on the development of the NICE guidelines for the management of pancreatic cancer. Anna has worked within the cancer charity sector for over 20 years, previously managing policy and campaigning activity at both Breast Cancer Care and Prostate Cancer UK.

Peter de Rosa
Senior Policy and Health improvement manager: Campaigns, Health Improvement and Policy
Peter and his team develop and influence policy in the NHS across the UK with the aim to improve the diagnosis, treatment, and care that people with pancreatic cancer receive. His team work on key projects across early diagnosis and detection, treatment and care, research investment and improving data and evidence available for pancreatic cancer.
Georgina Lilley
Project Manager, Early Diagnosis Programme, NHS Cancer Programme, NHS England
Georgina’s work focuses on improving early diagnosis and detection of pancreatic cancer, through the launch of a targeted Pancreatic Cancer Primary Care Case-Finding Pilot which will launch in 2025 and supporting more individuals with inherited risk of pancreatic cancer to receive pancreatic cancer surveillance through referral to the EUROPAC study.
Karen Manby
Study participant
Karen Manby has been on the EUROPAC surveillance programme for pancreatic cancer since 2006. Since 2013 she has been involved in providing a public and patient voice on a range of projects to help with research bids/proposals and to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer generally and of EUROPAC in particular. Now retired, her professional experience was in International Human Resources (DProf).
Annabelle Boughey
Operations Manager, EUROPAC
Annabelle joined EUROPAC 6 years ago. During this time, she has overseen the expansion from one co-ordinator and one clinical fellow to six regional navigators, three clinical fellows, one co-ordinator and my current role as operations manager. Annabelle interfaces between research, laboratory and clinical teams both within EUROPAC and their academic collaborators in the UK, Europe and America.
