Psychosocial support in pancreatic cancer two-part event

27th March & 3rd April 2025, 9.00am 11.00am, Zoom Webinar

This March and April, join us for our free, virtual educational sessions on psychosocial support in pancreatic cancer.

Part one was held on 27th March and explored psychological support for people affected by pancreatic cancer. We began by discussing distress – how to recognise it, what is ‘normal’ and what you can do. We considered how to provide psychosocial support to patients with a life limiting prognosis and covered vicarious trauma and burnout, exploring how you can look after yourself while looking after others.

Part two on 3rd April will focus on communicating with and supporting people affected by pancreatic cancer from all backgrounds. The first session will look at breaking down barriers – talking about cancer within communities where it may been seen as a taboo, addressing end of life and dying and providing emotional support to people who don’t speak English or English isn’t their first language. We’ll then discuss opening up conversations around spirituality and tips on supporting patients with different spiritual needs. And we’ll explore communicating effectively and providing support to people with learning disabilities.

These events will provide you with ideas and tips to provide psychosocial support to your patients and their loved ones.
